Like other linen yarns, it may be slightly stiff initially, but softens considerably with use. Knitting this yarn is not rough on the hands, since it is quite thin.<\/p>\n
The 3-ply linen is well suited for lace knitting, shawls, and summer clothing. Work a single tread for airy shawls and summer clothing. Hold two or three threads together to make a heavily draping knitted fabric. Or hold the linen thread together with a silk, wool or alpaca yarn for comfortable all seasons garments.<\/p>\n

I love wearing linen clothing, but it has taken me a long time to find a linen yarn that I find comfortable to knit. For my hands, it is the thickness of the linen yarn that decides the matter: a heavy linen thread is hard work to knit, that is not the case with this lovely light thread. It is not hard on my hands at all. It’s very nice for lace knitting on its own, but I do prefer this linen thread held with a thin silk merino or silk mohair yarn. I also use the linen for different types of embroidery, like visible mending. The linen thread is quite shiny in the beginning, it almost looks like silk, and I really like that.
