Spun from 100% Swedish wool. The wool is collected by Ullcentrum, whose production in Öland, Sweden focuses on natural materials and sustainability. The wool is from small and medium sized farms in Öland, Småland and Blekinge in southern Sweden. The yarn is spun and put up in hanks of slightly different sizes. We write the size of the hank on each Ullcentrum yarn.
Ullcentrum Z-plied is a 2-ply wool where the singles have been plied in the Z direction instead of the usual S direction you find in most knitting yarn. Z-plied yarn is suitable for twined knitting, the old knitting technique where two yarns are twisted for every stitch.
