Description

Fenris is a strong, beautiful 2-ply lambswool yarn, spun by Henrichsens Uldspinderi in Skive, Denmark. This yarn is grey heather, as it is spun from a mix of white and dark wool.

Excellent for sweaters, shawls, hats, and mittens. Wonderful for stranded knitting, as the yarn is a bit clingy, like Shetland wools. It is possible to reach a gauge of 28 sts / 10 cm (4 inches) in stranded knitting. In single color knitting, it can also be worked at a looser gauge, for example stockinette using 3 mm needles at 22 sts / 10 cm (4 inches) or garter stitch using 4 mm needles at 17 sts / 10 cm (4 inches).

The skeins are unwashed, so they contain spinning oil. Soak in lukewarm water with wool soap before dyeing.

To knit this yarn without dyeing it, soak and hand wash before use to remove spinning oil, especially a good idea if planning to use dyed and undyed skeins for the same project.

Weight per skein: 100 g.

Yardage per skein: 450 m.
